Daily Activities
Friday 12:00-2:30 PM:
Today I met with Diane and Hunter at 12:00 PM. When we first arrived we all got together to discuss the different muscles involved in the rotator cuff. Hunter and I presented what we had learned from our research while we waited for our first patient of the day to arrive. Our first patient was coming in to see Diane because she was having a lot of pain in her right shoulder. The pain was being referred to her lower arm and this made Diane believe that it was due to something going on in her neck. Diane did some Ultra Sound on the back of her neck, massaged her neck to loosen the muscles up and then put some Stim. on her neck and shoulder area to remove swelling. When she was done our next patient arrived. He was a Proctor student who had undergone surgery on his left foot to correct a high arch. Diane’s goal with him was to help his mobility since he had been in a cast for a long period of time. He had also lost a lot of muscle in his calf from not using it so she hopes to be able to strengthen it and stretch it out as well. After she stretched him a little she did some Ultra Sound followed by some Stimulation.
Tomorrow we’ll be going to Nashua, New Hampshire to watch a surgeon repair an ACL on a Cadaver. We will leave at 6:30 tomorrow morning for the presentation and surgery!
