Daily Activities
Thursday 11:00-1:30 PM:
Today I met with Diane around 11 o’clock this morning. Our first patient arrived shortly after and was actually a patient that had come in last week as well. She was still feeling quite a bit of pain in her hip and around her Illiotubial Band. To start off Diane found the sorest spot around the bursa on her right thigh and did some ultra sound with a gel that had a little Cortisone in it. This was done for 20 minutes and once it wad done some electrical stimulation was added around the sore spot to hopefully remove any swelling that was going on under the IT Band. Next, Diane massaged and put some ultra sound around the area where the IT band ends at the knee in order to loosen it up since it was starting to feel a little tight. After that Diane gave us the opportunity to get involved with the patient and stretch her out. Our next patient for the day had unfortunately called and canceled so we spent the rest of the time cleaning up the office and going over what we had researched about the elbow joint. We were quizzed on the ligaments, muscle attachments, and the bones that are all involved in making the elbow joint work properly.
Tomorrow we will meet with Diane at the office to conclude our 3 weeks of Senior Project!
